Whether you are having a Church Wedding or a Civil Wedding, you are looking for an exclusive wedding venue, and the finest wedding reception. Birtsmorton Court is a beautiful medieval moated country manor house, for your perfect wedding.

Simon Dawes (Managing Director) and his team pride themselves in offering a bespoke service for all weddings. Birtsmorton Court is not a hotel, therefore we have no other event or customers to worry about during your wedding. This individual focus really does give us the edge.

Should you have any ideas that will make your day special (e.g. arrival by helicopter, fireworks, casinos, non-traditional and traditional wedding formats), Simon and the wedding coordinators will work with you to facilitate any aspect of your wedding day to make it the best wedding you've ever been to!

Couple and House

Birtsmorton Court offers wedding couples the choice between the beautiful marquee and/or the Garden Room for their Wedding Breakfast. The Marquee provides a large, light space with ivory swags and an elegant stone flooring, to which couples can add their own colour and personality to ensure the room reflects them and their taste. The Garden Room benefits from exposed wooden beams and paintings of the surrounding grounds, making the room warm, interesting and unique.

The choice is yours!

Church Weddings

With a capacity of 110, the Anglican church of St. Thomas of Canterbury with St. Peter and St. Paul has a charming simplicity. The 14th Century structure is just a few yards away from the Court grounds, entered by its own gateway.

Each year couples from across the country, and around the world enjoy the open and welcoming attitude of this church.

Should you be interested in a Church wedding or blessing, please contact the Reverend Michael Rogers on 01684 833230, who will be delighted to hear from you.

Civil Weddings

civil wedding

Both the Great Hall and the Garden Room are licensed for Civil Ceremonies. The Great Hall is licensed for up to 80 people and offers the most beautiful and historic setting.

60 chairs are arranged theatre style with an additional 15 people standing (room capacity for 80 includes Registrars, Bride and Groom). This set-up allows for a generous central isle.

For winter weddings (1st November until the clocks go forward in March) the fire in the large central fireplace is lit to ensure a warm and inviting setting.

If your numbers are above 80, the Garden Room offers a license for up to 200 guests, where a wedding couple can be married surrounded by the tranquility and shelter of the gardens. The Garden Room also offers a 93ft isle from the door to the Civil Wedding table, ensuring an entrance worthy of any wedding dress!

Evening Entertainment

Dancing1

Once an Elizabethan bowling alley, the Garden Room provides a large area for your wedding party to enjoy the evening celebrations. As it was once a private motor museum housing a unique collection of important racing cars from such famous manufacturers as Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar and Alfa Romeo, motoring memorabilia is featured around the bar area, creating a point of interest for most male guests.

The Garden Room is surrounded by private gardens featuring a dedicated entrance, full catering facilities and a large purpose-built parking area. This makes for a highly adaptable space that can host any type of wedding party.

Outside the Wedding Marquee is an extensive garden with 2 lawns, available to your wedding party for the duration of your wedding. The area is sensitively lit and offers elegant garden chairs and tables (weather permitting) for guests to enjoy the tranquil outside space.

evening

A wooden parquet dancefloor (16 ft. x 20 ft.) is part of the package, which when set up in the Garden Room provides a fantastic area dedicated to dancing, separate from the marquee. (For numbers of 160 and below).

Charming pastel scenes of the Court's surrounding gardens and views are now featured in the main area of the Garden Room, reminding visitors of where they are and the beauty that surrounds them. The pictures are painted on different pastel backgrounds that will co-ordinate with any wedding colour scheme.

evening

A generously stocked bar is offered with every wedding, however small - the bar is stocked with an excellent selection of bottled lagers, bitters, apple and pear ciders and stout. We also provide an extensive selection of spirits, wines and soft drinks.

Bridal Suite

By far the most beautiful bedroom in the house, with four large windows looking out onto the moat, the waterfall, the Westminster and topiary, this view is second to none.

The Bridal Suite bedroom boasts an elegant 6 ft Four Poster Bed, Chaise Long, Sofas and Television.

The bridal suite's private bathroom is an elegant 1960's turquoise suite, featuring a bath plenty big enough for two! With a spacious private dressing room, a bride has the perfect space to re-apply make-up and freshen up, as well as storing over night bags.

The following morning a breakfast of the finest local ingredients is served to the Bride and Groom in the house Dining Room by the family's housekeeper, Mr Peter Cleverley.
